Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront took a battering on Thursday (March 2nd) when a high tide combined with strong onshore winds.
Big waves crashed onto the sea wall, sending plumes of spray into the air and onto The Esplanade, as pictured here.
With 50mph gusts of wind sweeping in, The Environment Agency closed Burnham’s flood gates as a precaution at the jetty, Maddock’s Slade and the Sailing Club but there was fortunately no flooding.
