£20,000 traffic calming scheme in Burnham-On-Sea gets the go-ahead

-

A £20,000 project to increase safety on a busy road in Burnham-On-Sea is set to go ahead.

County Councillor Peter Burridge-Clayton has secured the funding for a new traffic calming scheme in Stoddens Road on the bend near the Rectory Road junction, pictured here.

The work, which is expected to start later this year, is aimed at reducing traffic speeds following several accidents in recent years.

“I recently met with local residents who have been concerned about the number of accidents at this bend, so I sought funding from the County Council’s Small Improvement Schemes budget,” Cllr Peter Burridge-Clayton told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“I’m really pleased to have secured this funding for a traffic calming scheme that should address the problems and make it safer for residents and motorists. I will keep residents informed of the scheme as the plans are developed.”
