A woman has been dramatically rescued from an overturned car after it crashed into a roadside ditch in Burnham-On-Sea.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to Stoddens Road in Burnham shortly before 9.45pm on Saturday (August 5th), as pictured here.
Two members of the public managed to help the lady free from the vehicle before crews arrived.
A fire spokesperson said: “Appliances from Burnham-On-Sea and Street attended an RTC involving a single vehicle.”
“On arrival crews confirmed one female out of the vehicle and in the hands of paramedics.”
“Crews made the vehicle and scene safe and duty of care was left with the Police.”
The lady was taken to hospital with injuries that are understood to be not life threatening.
There have been many accidents on the same sharp road bend over the years, where local residents have campaigned for improved safety measures.
