A popular commuter route on the outskirts of Burnham-On-Sea is to close for two weeks during June whilst work to strengthen the route gets underway.
Stoddens Lane will close for approximately two weeks from June 4th, Somerset County Council’s Highways department confirmed this week.
Spokesman Nick Ware told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ll be carrying out work to shore up the edge of the road in several spots. New metal piles and tin will be installed to strengthen it.”
There was initially concern that the road would be closing for a year after one sign stating the closure would take 52 weeks, but Mr Ware this had been an error.
