After retiring from motorcycle racing he embarked on a successful truck racing career and was three-time winner of the British Open Truck Championship and four time winner of the European title. He has been in team management and led his team to three British Superbike Championship titles.

In the following years he was a commentator for the BBC’s coverage of Motor GP, and also presented on BBC radio and Sky TV’s coverage of World Superbike and the British Superbike Series.
