Staff and pupils at Lympsham CofE Academy School near Burnham-On-Sea are celebrating a glowing report from Ofsted.
The inspectors have rated the school ‘good’ in a new report just published.
Katie Whiting, Headteacher, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Being the Headteacher at Lympsham CofE Academy is an honour. I am so proud of the achievements of our whole school community and am pleased that throughout the inspection process, visitors to the school recognised and acknowledged the amazing work that is part of our everyday life.”
“Lympsham is a ‘small school, with big dreams’ and together with the support of our local partners and Wessex Learning Trust we deliver an education that empowers young learners to reach their full potential.”
“Children at our school are at the heart of all we do and as such we are incredibly proud of the caring and aspirational environment we create and the quality of teaching we provide.”
Inspectors visiting the school noted particular strengths within its ambitious curriculum and high expectations of behaviour and attitudes.
The Ofsted report continued by acknowledging “The school’s work to develop pupils’ personal development is well thought out. Pupils benefit from the wide range of visitors to school, to share important messages such as ‘speak out, stay safe’.”
The report adds “pupils value trips that enrich learning opportunities. They speak enthusiastically about these experiences, including a trip to see Concorde. Pupils are proud of the roles and responsibilities they have as junior leaders. They understand that democracy is a fair process to appoint leaders.”
“Digital leaders teach their peers about the importance of keeping safe online and house captains help to plan whole-school events, including sports day. These opportunities help to build pupils’ confidence and resilience.”
