A Bridgwater man has been convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent to wound following a stabbing in Highbridge last year.
Burnham-On-Sea.com reported last year how Highbridge man James Hobbs, 37, had to use a kebab to stem the flow of blood from his neck wound after he was stabbed following an attack in Charlotte Court.
His assailant, 36 year-old Jamie Edney, has been convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent to wound in relation to the incident following a trial at Taunton Crown Court.
Mr Edney, from Longstone Avenue in Bridgwater, denied the charge but was convicted by jurors and will soon be sentenced.
Mr Hobbs said afterwards: “It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and I’m glad to finally get off. We are looking forward to putting it all behind us and getting on with our lives.”
He suffered a deep cut to the throat and his vocal chords were narrowly missed. The story grabbed the attention of the national press last year.
