The Bishop of Bath and Wells was in Highbridge on Thursday evening (October 28th) to officially welcome a new vicar in the town.
A congregation of more than 100 people filled St John’s Church to take part in a special service when Reverend Sharon Crossman became its new vicar.
Bishop Peter Price and Archdeacon of Wells Nicola Sullivan were joined by the town’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke, at the service.
Rev Crossman, formerly Team Vicar for the Portishead Ministry, told Burnham-On-Sea.com she had been given a warm welcome to the town and is “greatly looking forward” to her time in Highbridge.
St John’s former curate, Christine Judson, has moved to Portishead as part of the church’s normal rotation of its team.
