A teenager from Highbridge has been arrested by police investigating last week’s burglary at St John’s School in the town.
A 17 year-old man was held and a laptop computer, which was stolen from the school, has been recovered.
“The offender was identified from CCTV images at a computer shop in Bridgwater, where he tried to sell a laptop which was stolen from St John’s School,” Sgt Ian Kennett told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“His address was searched and a small hydroponics set up was also discovered, with three large cannabis plants being cultivated.”
“It followed good investigative work by the Highbridge beat manager PC Adrian Jones,” added Sgt Kennett.
He has been charged with burglary, possession and cultivation of cannabis and will appear at Sedgemoor Youth Court on 16th July.
Burnham-On-Sea.com first reported the break-in at the school last week.
