Spring sunshine draws visitors to Burnham-On-Sea and Brean

The warmest day of the year so far saw visitors heading to beaches in Burnham-On-Sea and Brean on Saturday (March 7th).

Temperatures reached 16.5°C (61F) in Burnham on Saturday afternoon, a welcome warm spell following a chilly start to the year.

Beaches and the seafront in Burnham were busy with walkers and families enjoying the Spring sunshine, as pictured above.

Brean Beach Warden Dave Furber told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our beach was very busy with 140 vehicles parked during the afternoon – our busiest day of the year so far.”

Burnham Chamber of Trade also reported that several shops in the town centre had enjoyed a busy day of trade from visitors, while the team at BIARS (Burnham Information and Rescue Support) saw a busy day handling queries at the town’s tourist information centre.
