Chilly wintry breezes and blue skies heralded the first day of spring in Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday (March 1st).
But signs of warmer times ahead are all around, with crocuses already in bloom in the town’s Manor Gardens – as pictured – and daffodils bursting into colour in gardens across Burnham.
The Meteorological Office classes March 1st as the first day of spring, saying March, April and May are regarded as the spring months – although traditionally spring starts on the night of 20/21 March.
