A sponsored walk from Brean to Uphill and back has raised over £1,300 towards a local gymnastics club’s appeal to help fund a new set of electric doors to help with ventilation at its gym during the Covid pandemic.
The walk was attended by scores of supporters of Highbridge’s Monarchs Gymnastics Club following the launch of the fundraising appeal, which we featured here.
The club’s Mandy Warburton told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A big thank you and well done goes to everyone who took part and sponsored us – the walk raised an incredible £1,359.74 towards the new doors.”
“A special thanks goes to Southwest Digital Systems for their continued support to the club and their very generous sponsor of £250.”
She previously said: “We have replaced our very old doors with new electric double doors, which are helping to create more ventilation and reduce the risk of Covid and keep our classes running.”
The Monarchs, who are based on the Walrow Industrial Estate in Brue Way, are raising £10,000 towards the £18,000 cost of the doors, having seperately raised over £8,000.
