World speedway champion Jason Doyle joined BT Sport TV presenters Kelvin Tatum and Nigel Pearson for a special evening at Highbridge’s Oaktree Arena on Thursday evening (February 1st).

Doyle, a favourite with Rebels fans after his previous spells with the club, is making a sensational return to the Highbridge-based Somerset Rebels this season, as reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com here.

The world champ met some of 250 fans at the event and happily signed autographs during the evening.

BT Sports’ Kelvin Tatum and Nigel Pearson returned to the home of the Somerset Rebels for a fourth year with their stage tour, discussing all aspects of the sport and recounting many amusing anecdotes just weeks before the new speedway season begins.

The Cases Rebels are set to compete in the Premiership this season – and that means the BT Sport cameras will be back several times at The Oaktree, promoting the Burnham area.

Somerset Rebels promoter Debbie Hancock told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was great to see Kelvin and Nigel back at the Oaktree – they are all always great fun and very entertaining – and it was really special to have our new signing, Jason Doyle, there to meet the fans. We have high hopes for a great season!”

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Mayor Bill Hancock added: “It was a super evening and we thank Kelvin, Nigel, Jason and everyone who came along for their wonderful support.”
