Burnham-On-Sea Police have started a new series of speed gun checks in the town at known speeding blackspots.
The first patrols have taken place this week in Stoddens Road, as pictured here, and further speed checks are planned in the area.
“We are responding to local concern about speeding vehicles in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge,” a Police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We are recording the speed of motorists who can expect to receive warnings or fines when speeds are exceeded.”
Several motorists received warnings to slow down in Stoddens Road this week, where the limit is 30mph, with fines issued to offenders breaking the limit.
We recently reported that 58% of drivers in Burnham-On-Sea’s Stoddens Road break the speed limit, according to data captured by a roadside speed indicator.
