Several seafront walkers came to the aid of a speedboat owner when he got into difficulties on Burnham’s slipway on Monday evening (May 15th).
The fast-incoming tide and gusty winds caught out owner Dan Prentice as he was coming in after a trip around the bay, leaving his boat to quickly fill with water.
As he struggled to keep control of the partially submerged craft, several locals came to his aid to help him haul it away from trouble.
Dan – who only bought the boat a week ago – said: “The sea was quite rough tonight and several waves caught us. Before we knew it, the boat was flooded. I’m very grateful to those who helped us out.”
