Brent Knoll residents gear up for bid to tackle speeding in village

-

Villagers in Brent Knoll who are concerned about speeding motorists have this week been handed new equipment to tackle the problem.

Cllr Peter Downing, Chairman of Sedgemoor District Council, presented members of the village’s speedwatch group with a speed detector kit.

Funded jointly by Sedgemoor District Council and Avon and Somerset Constabulary, it will be used to gather data about traffic speeds in Brent Knoll.

“The ‘Prolite+’ laser will monitor traffic through the village and provide a tracking history to build up a picture about the scale of speeding,” said a spokesman.
