As well as paying for the privilege to wear something red as part of ‘National Wear it Red Day’, staff at Specsavers in Burnham High Street also took it in turns to have a go on an exercise machine with the aim of burning off 1,000 calories by the end of the day and raise sponsorship money.
Rama Venkat, store director at Specsavers in Burnham, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Heart disease is a big problem in this country so we wanted to help raise awareness, as well as funds for the British Heart Foundation.”
