It was a very special day of double celebrations for a Burnham-On-Sea family on Monday (August 3rd).
Tom Flack reached his 101st birthday on the same day that his great grand-daughter Anastasia Gayfer reached her 1st birthday.
Little Anastasia was born prematurely on the same day as Tom’s 100th birthday last year – making August 3rd extra special for the family.
Tom has lived in Pawlett for over 50 years, and Anastasia lives in Burnham-On-Sea with her mum and dad Liz and Darrel.
Tom, a veteran of the Burma campaign, originally moved to Somerset from Suffolk during the Second World War on a secret experimentation project with Barrage Balloons.
Whilst in Somerset, he met his wife Ruby and they were married for the next 62 years until she passed away in 2004.
Asked for his secret to longevity, Tom recommended Burnham-On-Sea.com “a tot of whiskey every night”!
