A Burnham-On-Sea group that provides local news on audio cassettes for blind and visually impaired residents has this week received a windfall of more than £3,000.
Sounds and Voices provides cassette tapes of news and information on a regular basis to 75 blind and visually impaired people in the Burnham area, plus disabled people who have difficulty leaving their home.
On Wednesday (January 14th), the group received £3,000 from County Councillor Rose Parsons from her Community Fund, and a further £640 from Burnham Lions Club.
The group’s John Bryan told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are delighted and very grateful for these donations, which will be used to buy new digital recording equipment to make it easier to produce our cassettes.”
