Local dancers to appear on TV with pop group B*Witched this Sunday

-

Members of a Highbridge dance group will be appearing on TV alongside pop group B*Witched this Sunday (November 24th).

Youngsters from the Burnham-On-Sea area were featured alongside the Irish pop quartet for the new ITV series of The Sooty Show which was filmed at Brean over the summer.

Members of Highbridge’s Lucy Gunter Dance Centre were invited along to take part in the filming session, as pictured here.

The ‘disco disco’ episode of The Sooty Show will be broadcast on ITV1 at 7.25am on Sunday 24th November.

Lucy told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “25 students are in the episode dancing with B*Witched and they are on-location throughout the episode. This is the fourth episode of Sooty that the students have been shown in and the Lucy Gunter Dance Centre also appears in the end credits.”

“All of the students had a fantastic time shooting the show and meeting B*Witched and other celebrities including Amy Childs.”

The TV series is now filmed entirely at Brean Leisure Park where many of the original props and memorabilia are on display at The Fun City amusement park. The new 26-part series is airing on ITV1 and CITV.

Producer and presenter Richard Cadell told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s great to involve local children in our TV show.”

“Lucy’s children were fabulous and I’m sure they learnt much from seeing behind the scenes. Sooty was very pleased to meet them all and they will feature in several of our new episodes.”
