Children’s TV character Sooty was the VIP guest to open Berrow Church’s summer fete on Saturday afternoon (August 24th).
Entertainer Richard Cadell and Sooty performed the opening ceremony outside St Mary’s Church alongside Reverend Sally Lacey.
“We were honoured to have Sooty along for the opening – he was just superb and met many families before the opening,” Rev Lacey told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Burnham’s Monarchs Gymnastic Team and local magician Luke Perry also performed in front of the spectators during the afternoon. There were also stalls, traditional fete games and attractions, raising hundreds of pounds for the church.
