Burnham church moves songwriter’s concert to bigger venue as tickets sell fast

-

Burnham-On-Sea Baptist Church is hosting a concert on the national tour of one of the world’s leading worship songwriters on Saturday 20th April – and his popularity has already caused a change of plans.

The church is organising the Stuart Townend concert at Highbridge’s King Alfred School as they have already sold too many tickets to fit everyone into their 160 seat church in the centre of Burnham.

Church spokeswoman Louise Whitrow told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Stuart Townend is one of today’s leading worship songwriters. Songs such as ‘How deep the Father’s love’, ‘See what a morning’ and ‘The power of the cross’ are sung in churches around the world, while the skill and depth of his lyric writing has drawn many to compare him with the likes of Watts and Wesley at their best.”

“His song ‘In Christ Alone’ also had the honour of being chosen last month as one to be sung at the enthronement of the new Archbishop of Canterbury.”

With the bigger venue, tickets are still available. Seats cost £10 and the concert starts at 7.30pm. Contact Louise at Burnham Baptist Church on 01278 794057 or by email at bosbap@hotmail.co.uk for more details.
