Seven Burnham-On-Sea artists will be joining more than 750 artists from across the county in exhibiting their work during Somerset Art Week (SAW) this September.
Judith Champion, Linda Gee, Mary Stradling, Sharon Campbell, Jan Olive, Angela Uren and Roy Wallis will all be showing their work at The Piggery, Middle Burnham Farm in Stoddens Lane between September 9th and 24th.
The annual event involves over 360 venues – from studios and galleries to homes and garden sheds – showcasing the work of artists and makers including painters, sculptors, potters, photographers and jewellers.
Burnham-based Judith Champion, a local artist and SAW organiser, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Somerset Art Week is an important event for artists and makers across the county. People come from far and wide to see us at work, in galleries, in our studios and homes. It is a wonderful opportunity to talk about what we do, and sometimes we even manage to sell a few pieces or take commissions!”
Kevin McCloud, best known for his Channel 4 series ‘Grand Designs’, is patron of SAW. He added: “This year Somerset Arts Week is bigger and better than ever. That’s because there are more artists – 750 of them – working in all kinds of places, from palaces to piggeries, but also because so many projects this year extend out of the studio into the community and countryside.”

Somerset Art Week is supported by Somerset County Council, Sedgemoor, South Somerset, Mendip, Taunton Deane District Councils and Artlife.
