Burnham-On-Sea artists display colourful work for Somerset Art Weeks

-

Burnham-On-Sea artists are displaying their work during Somerset Art Weeks this month.

The event is currently underway and runs from 15th-30th September, presenting a rare opportunity to view established, new and emerging artists for free in their working environments.

Visitors are encouraged to browse, buy any artwork or place a personal commission for a special piece.

Susan and Clive Hammond-Lovatt plus Teresa Cudlipp are displaying their art at 112 Berrow Road.

Cora Stock is opening up at her house at 47 The Esplanade on the seafront with her daughter, Catherine Metcalf.

Judith Champion is at The Old Piggery Studio in Stoddens Lane – and is keen to stress that the current road closure is not preventing access to her property.

Margaret Micklewright is at Cross with Andrea Oke; Alan Ward has his work on show in Cross Street.

Woodturner George Foweraker creates a vast range of items from pens, bowls and platters to garden sculptures from locally sourced native timbers in Burnham-On-Sea. His work is on show in Burnham’s Rectory Drive.

Working at the nearby Old Piggery Studio in Stoddens Lane, artist Judith Champion interprets the Levels landscape using acrylics, oil, inks and reeds creating atmospheric landscape vistas.

Open Studios visitors can also find out first-hand about the creative process through demonstrations, workshops, talks and visits, to educate, inspire and delight.

Details can be found on the SAW website www.somersetartworks.org.uk and in the Open Studios Guide available from libraries, Tourist Information Centres and cultural venues as well as other selected outlets across the county and beyond.
