Brean beachwarden warns motorists after 11 cars get stuck in soft sand

-

Holidaymakers came to the rescue of this car stuck in soft sand on Brean beach on Saturday (July 28th) – one of several this week.

The Saab had become stranded in soft sand at the top of the beach, as pictured here, and has been one of several to get into difficulty this week.

Brean’s beachwarden Dave Furber told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It is very easy for motorists to get into difficulty when the sand is so soft at the very top of the beach. We helped 11 motorists out of the soft sand on one day this week.”

“The best advice is always to stay on the hard sand and not to venture near mud or soft sand – and don’t forget to check the tide times.”

“There are some high tides over the next few days and we don’t want anyone getting into difficulty.”
