Electricity restored to 62 homes after snow cuts power in Highbridge

-

Dozens of homes in Highbridge were without power for several hours during Friday’s wintry weather.

The snow began to fall in the Burnham-On-Sea area at around 4am and by mid-morning several inches covered roads, as pictured.

Western Power Distribution said 62 homes in Highbridge’s Morland Road and Burnham Road suffered a power cut at 5.40am – one of several outages as the snow brought down power lines in the region.

A spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The power was not fully restored until after repairs to the line were completed at 2.10pm. We apologise for the inconvenience this caused customers.”
