An amber warning has been issued for sleet and snow in the area this evening.
A spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Outbreaks of sleet and snow will affect parts of southwest England during Tuesday night. The main risk appears to be in the western portion of the warning area. Some 2-5 cm of snow is likely in places.”
“The public should be aware of the risk of localised disruption to transport during this spell of wintry weather.”
The freezing conditions are expected to continue until Saturday, when temperatures will rise to 7 degrees Centigrade.
