Concerned Burnham-On-Sea police made an appeal for witnesses on Friday (November 3rd) after revealing that a smoke grenade had been thrown into a busy Chinese restaurant in the town earlier in the week.
Police confirmed to Burnham-On-Sea.com that at around 10.35pm on Tuesday (October 31st) the smoke grenade had been thrown into the Taste Of The Orient restaurant, situated on the High Street.
“The grenade caused burns to carpeting and décor and resulted in a small number of customers being evacuated from the premises,” said a spokesman.
“None of the people inside were injured, but police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the incident or who knows the offenders involved.”
The spokesman added that CCTV footage of the area was being investigated by the force.
