Police in Burnham-On-Sea have identified the four youngsters who carried out two ‘potentially dangerous’ smoke bomb attacks in the town last week.
As first featured on Burnham-On-Sea.com last week, a bundle of burning paper was shoved through a pensioner’s letterbox in Mendip Way before it fizzled out and, separately, a smoke bomb was thrown over the fence of St Andrew’s Junior School and into the playground. No-one was hurt in either incident.
Burnham Inspector Roger Tolley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have spoken to the four young men involved in these incidents.”
“Three of them are being dealt with through our anti-social behaviour process which involves notification to parents. Ultimately, if they repeat the crimes we can considser ASBOs as a follow-on option.”
“One further youngster will be dealt with for offences of disorderly behaviour on a school premises and he may be prosecuted.”
Inspector Tolley added: “This was clearly potentially dangerous – thankfully no-one was hurt.”
