Burglars smashed their way into a Highbridge newsagents shop in the early hours of Friday morning (March 16th) in order to steal two crates of beer.
Almost £1,500 of damage was caused to Smarts Newsagents in Church Street during the 3am raid.
“We were woken at 3am when a big concrete block was thrown through the window,” owner Gautam Patel told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“They ran off with two crates of beer worth about £45 – but the repairs to the shop will cost about £1,400.”
Police spokesman Dan Mountain told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are interested in hearing from anyone who saw two males in the who were area at the time.”
“One was wearing a white top and white trousers, and the other was wearing a beanie style hat and a brown top.”
