Former darts world champion Gary Anderson has pulled out of a lockdown darts event due to poor Wi-Fi speeds at his home in Burnham-On-Sea.
The star has pulled out of the PDC Home Tour, which is set to take place across 32 consecutive nights from players’ houses due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Broadcast on the PDC’s website, each night of the home tour would see four players meet in a round-robin format comprised of the best of nine leg matches, with the winner of each group going into the next round.
However, weak signals at his Burnham-On-Sea home have halted Gary’s plans to be involved.
He told a national newspaper: “I was up for it but when we did tests of my Wi-Fi, it’s just not reliable enough. It doesn’t surprise me. I struggle to pay bills online in my house – it’s really frustrating.”
“I did want to take part. It would have been something different to try and win.”
