A night club in Burnham-On-Sea town centre has this week been granted a Premises Licence with opening hours until the early hours of the morning.
The new owners of Skye Bar in The High Street had applied to Sedgemoor District Council for a new premises licence, which has been granted.
The applicants had asked to operate the club to the same hours as the original owners.
Recorded music was requested indoors from 8pm to 4am (Thurs to Sat), and late night refreshments can be served from 11pm to 2am (Thurs to Sat).
Following the application process, the sale and supply of alcohol and the playing of recorded music will be allowed from 8pm to 2am (Thurs to Sat) on the premises only.
Although this is an application for a new premises licence, the business previously operated as a night club until the licence was surrendered on 6th July 2015 by the Licence Holder at the time.
An objection to the application has been received by a local resident, regarding concerns about the prevention of crime, disorder and public nuisance which has been fully addressed with the owners.
The Council’s Environmental Health Service agreed a condition with the applicant. The Police have also agreed a set of conditions.
Steve Taylor, from Sedgemoor’s Democratic Services, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The objection was withdrawn by the local resident and conditions agreed, therefore the scheme was approved without going to the Licensing Panel.”
