A Burnham-On-Sea woman is planning a sky dive to raise money for a charity in the town that offers counselling and support to people in need.
Angie Clarke, right, says: “I will be taking to the skies and embracing my fear of heights by skydiving out of a plane, and all for a great cause.”
“The money being raised will go to Somewhere House Somerset charity, which some of you will know is a cause very close to my heart.”
“The charity continues to provide therapeutic support in the community, and I am so proud of the thousands of people it has helped since its launch five years ago.”
“I want to face my vertigo head on because I believe in what Somewhere House Somerset do and I want to see them continue their amazing work.”
“It would be amazing if you could dig deep and donate to a wonderful cause.”
The sky is scheduled for March and her fundraising target has been set at the big amount of £10,000.
Her husband, Dave, recently climbed to Everest Base Camp and raised over £20,000 for the counselling charity.
Somewhere House Somerset says it aims to help those in the local community who have suffered a bereavement, need some family counselling, a substance addiction or who perhaps just want to talk through things with a trained counsellor.
The charity also goes into schools and colleges to talk about drug and alcohol addiction and the dangers.
Somewhere House Somerset does not charge a fee but relies instead on a donation of whatever amount is affordable plus community fundraising events.
