The ‘Siobhan Johnson Singers’ and choirs ‘Burnham on Song’ and ‘Burnham Youth Choir’ will be presenting a special summer concert at St John’s Church in Highbridge this evening (Saturday, 25th June) at 7pm in aid of BARB Search & Rescue.
It will be an evening packed full of entertaining songs from musical theatre/films, to include the choirs and Siobhan’s solo singers including Hannah Murdoch, Connie Paterson, Leah Norton and Fiona Williams with all performances being medal winners from this year’s Highbridge and Weston Festivals.
There will be songs and medleys from ‘A Chorus Line, Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Matilda, Wicked, Annie, The Jungle Book, to David Foster’s ‘The Prayer’ then a ‘Silly Disney Sing Along’ and the ‘Honour’s winning ‘Disney Mash Up Medley’ from the junior choir and ‘Burnham on Song’ will also be showing off their ever popular Medley to ‘Pachelbel’s Canon.
There will a finale from all singers of Gary Barlow’s ‘Sing’ which was composed for the Queen’s Jubilee.
“We are delighted to announce our special guest as the amazingly talented pianist ‘Richard Lennox'” said Siobhan.
“Richard is a fast emerging professional crossover artist and a virtuoso musician who plays anything from Bach to the Beatles, Musical Theatre to Rock and Roll and just about everything else in between.”
“As Master Of the Keys, he holds a phenomenal stage presence with the technical ability to truly entertain.”
“I have seen and worked with many professional musicians and I can honestly say that I was utterly mesmerised by Richard’s piano playing and style of entertaining and extremely honoured that he has agreed to be our guest performer to help raise money for the charity and will be delighting us many times throughout the evening on the piano and organ,” said Siobhan.
Tickets are on sale from ‘The Crafty Tea Cup’ and ‘Burnham Tourist Information Centre’ in Burnham-On-Sea or on the door, priced at £8.00 per adult, £4.00 per child, with under 5’s free including refreshments.
BARB runs several rescue hovercraft and inshore rescue boats in Burnham-On-Sea and helps and rescues many people along our local coastline each year.
