The winners of Burnham-On-Sea’s annual shop window competition, held earlier this month, have been announced.
The annual ‘Spot the Odd Item in the Shop Window Competition’, run by Burnham’s Chamber of Trade, ran for a fortnight over the Easter holiday period.
Over 20 businesses took part this year, with shoppers challenged to find hidden items in windows to be in with a chance of winning a £100 top prize and runners-up prizes.
The winner of the successful competition was Sean Young, pictured right with the Chamber’s Deryk Monaghan, Rhonda Mills and Beverley Milner Simonds.
He said: “My family and I had a great time finding the hidden items and we will be spending every penny of this £100 in Burnham town centre.”
Mark Newman, Co-Chairman of Burnham Chamber of Trade and Commerce, said: “These competitions drive footfall and interest in town centre businesses. We would like to thank all the participants and traders for taking part this year. There were 176 entries who were trying to find 21 tricky odd items hidden in windows across the town.”
Second was Sarah Olbrechts, third was Sarah Sparkes, fourth was Debbie Boardman and fifth was Fynn Cooper.
Prizes were given by the Chamber of Trade plus DJ Bull, Homehardware, Mr Beans, Sea Breeze and GW Hurleys. The award for the best item in the shop window, given by Positive Wealth Creation, was won by Burnham Printers and Stationers, who hid a robot!
