Winners of Burnham-On-Sea’s shop window contest announced

The winners of a popular annual competition to find odd items in Burnham-On-Sea shop windows have been announced.

Organised by Burnham’s Chamber Of Trade, the annual competition to ‘spot the odd item in the shop window’ ran over the recent Easter holidays.

A total of 40 town centre businesses put items that they don’t usually sell in their windows or online and the public were invited to find as many of them as possible to boost footfall.

The first prize of £75 goes to Poppy Sheppard, who lives in Burnham-On-Sea, and the runners up are Henry and Annabelle Williams from Edithmead.

They are pictured here with Burnham Chamber of Trade’s treasurer Deryk Monaghan and secretary Kay Haines.

“Our congratulations to the winners and thanks go to everyone who entered,” said a Chamber of Trade spokesman.

“Hundreds of people took part in this popular competition, which is always a lot of fun and attracts visitors into our town centre.”

“The Chamber believes Burnham has a great range of independent shops and the competition encourages people to explore our shops in the town centre.”

A Burnham-On-Sea town centre treasure trail is currently being planned for the summer holidays in a further bid to boost footfall over the peak holiday season.
