Burnham-On-Sea residents are being encouraged to ‘shop local’ and support town centre shops this Christmas.
Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade and MP James Heappey have this week issued a rallying call to coincide with Small Business Saturday, which takes place this coming weekend to encourage shoppers to support small local businesses.
“Independent shops and small businesses are the lifeblood of Burnham’s town centre – there’s a great range of gifts and products available and we encourage residents to ‘shop local’ this Christmas and give them as much support as possible,” said a Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade spokesman.
MP James Heappey added: “Burnham’s small businesses are a very important part of the town centre, creating many jobs and providing a real service to the community.”
“Small Business Saturday is a great opportunity to promote local business and support local people. Small businesses are a vital part of the local economy and it’s important that we recognise the fantastic work they do.”
As part of promoting Small Business Saturday, Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade is currently distributing copies of its Shoppers and Visitors Guide leaflet which features over 100 shops and businesses across the town centre.
Copies can be downloaded here and paper copies can be picked up at Home Hardware in Burnham High Street, KDS Interiors in Victoria Street and Burnham’s tourist information centre on The Esplanade.
