This runaway sheep brought traffic to a standstill along a busy road in Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday evening (July 27th).
Traffic ground to a halt in Queen’s Drive at 7.40pm as the animal pulled wool over the eyes of officers as it went on a runaround, as pictured here!
Officers were definitely looking sheepish as they pursued the animal for almost 30 minutes as it darted in and out of traffic.
Burnham PCSO Tracey Grobbeler told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The animal was heading along the road towards the M5 roundabout, so things could have got very dangerous.”
“Fortunately, we eventually managed to detain the animal and return it to its field.”
“We were very grateful for the help of two members of the public – Arran Rowan and Jane Watkins – who went above the call of duty to assist us.”
