New social and support group Sensational Kids to launch in Burnham
A new social and support group is set to launch in Burnham-On-Sea today (Saturday) for families with children with additional needs.
Sensational Kids meets fortnightly at Burnham Scout Hut and is holding a launch day event there from 11am-1pm when all will be welcome.
“We are a group of local parents who all share something very special – we all have sensational children with additional needs,” said a spokesperson.
“We have all spent too long feeling isolated and misunderstood and, with nothing close enough, we knew that this had to change.”
“After toying with the idea for over a year we decided to put our thoughts and passion together and we now have Sensational Kids Somerset.”
The group is a local social and support group for children, aged 0-18, who have additional needs and their families/carers.
“We aim to provide a safe, inclusive and non-judgemental environment. The children involved have a varying degree of disabilities and additional needs; each and every one is very welcome,” she added.
