Fundraiser to be held in East Huntspill for local special needs group

-

A fundraising evening is set to be held in East Huntspill this Saturday for a local group that helps children in the local area with special needs.

The Sensational Kids Somerset fundraiser will be held at East Huntspill Village Hall on Saturday (22nd October) from 7pm onwards.

The fundraiser will raise money for the group that is based at the Morland Hall in Highbridge to help the youngsters go to a sensory museum in Cardiff.

Sensational kids is a non-charity funded group for children in the local area with special needs and is run by the parents. It relies fully on donations and fundraising to keep going.

“The group gives the children a sense of freedom allowing them to learn to play and interact with others and benefit from many sensory toys for them to play with,” said the group’s Chantelle Sear.

“My four year-old son Charlie was diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorder and sensory process disorder at the age of 3 has really benefitted from attending the group as he is now settling in very well in his first year of school.”

She added: “Many local businesses are supporting us and we have such things attending like a bouncy castle, traditional ice cream cart, Kingston exotics reptile handling, Chan’s cupcakes plus many other stalls.”

“We have lots of great raffle prizes from family pantomime tickets, go karting passes from team sport UK avonmouth, swimming passes at Hutton Moor leisure centre, Noahs Ark zoo farm passes, Court Farm passes, @Bristol family passes. They also include a £30 gift voucher from Jeff Reasons of Thyers fishing tackle shop in highbridge. The top prize, courtesy of Ez Dreamer Beds in Exeter, is a bespoke handmade bed.”
