Actor Tony Head was the special guest at a ball near Burnham-On-Sea in aid of local wildlife charity Secret World on Saturday evening (November 22nd), where he gave his backing to the group’s campaign to halt badger culling.
Mr Head, who has appeared in the hit US TV series Buffy The Vampire Slayer and the BBC’s comedy show Little Britain lent his support to the East Huntspill-based charity during its annual ball at the Webbington Hotel.
Mr Head told Burnham-On-Sea.com during Saturday’s event: “Secret World does a wonderful job and I am very happy to support the group – they do a fabulous job.”
He added: “I particularly like their campaign to stop badger culls. It’s a very important campaign that I am fully behind. It’s terrible that badger culling is still ongoing in parts of Wales.”
Saturday’s ball was attended by over 240 people and featured a meal, casino, disco and auction, plus live Mexican music and entertainment from a group of professional salsa dancers. It is expected to have raised more than £9,000 for the charity.
