Secret World Wildlife Rescue wins ‘charity of the year’ title at awards ceremony

-

Volunteers at Secret World Wildlife Rescue are celebrating after the organisation was named ‘Charity of the Year’ at the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards.

At a ceremony held at Bridgwater Rugby Club on Thursday (March 21st), Secret World Wildlife Rescue was presented with a trophy and a cheque for £1,000.

The awards are held to recognise the success and achievements of organisations in the Sedgemoor Area, with over 250 guests attending.

Pauline Kidner, Founder, said: “We were so pleased to be acknowledged for the work that we do. It was lovely to accept the award on behalf of the many staff and volunteers that make our work possible and of course our supporters too.”

Secret World cares for over 5,000 wildlife casualties every year and runs purely on donations.

Its first open weekend of 2019 will be held at Easter on April 20th, 21st and 22nd from 10am-4pm. “We hope we will be seeing old friends and new,” said Pauline.
