An electric guitar signed by Brian May, who rose to fame as the lead guitarist of the rock band Queen, is to be auctioned for a charity near Burnham-On-Sea later this month.
Secret World Wildlife Rescue is holding its 13th annual charity auction and ball at the Webbington Hotel in Loxton on Saturday 28th November when the guitar will be up for grabs to the highest bidder.
Charity founder Pauline Kidner told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We were donated a guitar and one of our talented volunteers, April Dunnett, has painted the frets with badgers, deer, foxes and many other animals.”
“Brian is very supportive of our work especially with badgers and we were so pleased when he agreed to sign it for us!”
Sealed bids will be accepted for the guitar up to 12 noon on Friday 27th November, but those who want to be sure of winning the guitar need to be at the auction.
The evening is themed as a haunted castle and features a 10 piece band, Area 52. Tickets cost £40 and include a three course meal, casino, main auction, silent auction and dance. Broomsticks must be parked by 6.30pm as it’s a full night’s entertainment!
There will be over 100 items in the silent auction, and the 12 items in the main auction also include a chance to be in the audience in The One Show as well as a tour around the BBC; a chance to spend a day with Simon King OBE and visit his Wild Meadows where so many cameras capture the secrets of the countryside; and even the opportunity to ‘Be a Vet for the Day’.
