Secret World surplus donates duvets and pillows to homeless

-

So many duvets and pillows have been donated to East Huntspill’s Secret World Wildlife Rescue Centre that it has been unable to store them and it is donating them to an organisation caring for homeless people instead.

The charity has this week handed over the surplus quilts and pillows to The Taunton Assocation For The Homeless.

Secret World uses the bedding to care for animals such as swans, badgers and foxes that have suffered severe wounds and need soft material to lie on.

Sara Cowen, Secret World’s Care Manager, suggested contacting the homeless association to see if the spare materials could be put to good use.

Taunton Assocation For The Homeless’ Adrian Newbury said: “We were delighted to receive the call from Secret World and were able to collect the single duvets and pillows, which we will put to good use. It’s great that two local charities can help each other out like this.”
