-

Coastguards and lifeboats from Burnham-On-Sea have carried out a search of the River Parrett estuary amid concerns that a person may be missing.

Coastguards and police officers conducted a foot search of the riverbanks towards Dunball, assisted by two Burnham lifeboats, on Saturday evening (November 24th).

A 90-minute search was carried out until 6pm with no trace of the elderly man being found.

A Coastguard spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “A thorough search was conducted for an 88-year-old man who was believed to be missing, but no trace of him was found and the matter was left in the hands of the police.”
