Dozens of illuminations along Burnham’s seafront will be switched on for the summer season this Friday evening (April 22nd).
The Town Council has delayed this year’s switch-on in order to save cash.
“From this Friday, the lights will be illuminated each night from 7.30pm-10pm until mid-May, then from 8.30pm-11.30pm through until September,” Acting Town Council Clerk Denise Emery told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
A review of the funding of the lights is due to go ahead later this year when the Town Council is set to launch an appeal for sponsors. Only essential repairs of the lights are being carried out in the meantime.
Councillors also recently decided to keep the seafront illuminations lit during the Christmas period from 6-10pm before switching them off in early January.
