The elderly driver of this car was treated for shock on Thursday (March 3rd) after losing control of her vehicle on Burnham-On-Sea seafront.
Paramedics rushed to help the lady – aged in her 70s – after her Fiat careered off The Esplanade and slammed through two metal bollards and into the wall outside Burnham’s Tourist Information Centre.
Police and ambulance crews were quickly on the scene, as pictured here, after the accident at 1.14pm.
South Western Ambulance Service spokesman Dave Rogers told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Two ambulance crews were called to The Esplanade shortly and an elderly lady in her 70s was treated for shock, but she was otherwise unhurt.”
An eyewitness who saw the accident told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was fortunate that this did not occur during a busier time of the year when lots of visitors were about or it could have been a lot more serious.”
