Burnham-On-Sea’s Sea Cadets launch £12,000 appeal for minibus

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Sea Cadets unit has this week launched a £12,000 appeal to fund a much-needed new minibus.

The long-running cadet group, which is based in Cassis Close, Burnham-On-Sea – has issued an appeal for help amid a “dire transport situation”.

Carol Roberts, Chairman of Burnham Sea Cadets, pictured below, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Sea Cadets Unit is facing a dilemma and is asking for help from the community.”

“The Unit have been busy fundraising over the last year but now find themselves in a dire situation with regards to transport.”

“The Unit no longer has a minibus to transport our cadets to and from courses, competitions, parades and on water activities after our previous bus had to be scrapped due to age and condition.”

“We have no transport which is able to tow our boats so our cadets are no longer able to gain qualifications where use of boats is necessary.”

“The Unit is trying to raise a minimum of £12,000 to replace the minibus with a second hand crew bus.”

“If anyone would like to donate to help our cause or would like further information, we could welcome the support.”

Anyone who can help should contact Carol via the Unit in Cassis Close, Burnham-On-Sea or by email via the Contact Burnham-On-Sea.com page.
