A Burnham-On-Sea art gallery and gift shop is celebrating its 12th anniversary this week.
Sea Breeze in Burnham’s Victoria Street is marking the milestone with a raffle to win several pieces of artwork.
Owner Rhonda Mills says the gallery was primarily set up to provide an outlet all year round for professional local artists and craftspeople and now contains the work of around 60 people, ensuring that purchases put money into the local economy.
As a ‘thank you’ to their loyal customers Sea Breeze are running a raffle in the gallery. The raffle’s first prize is a piece of Tim Duke’s work, second prize is Judith Champion’s lighthouse picture. There is also a Facebook competition.
All three of the artists have had their work displayed from the beginning and have always been admired by the gallery and customers alike. Both competitions close at 5.30pm on Saturday 2nd December.
Rhonda told Burnham-on-Sea.com: “We are lucky to house such a wealth of talent and thoroughly enjoy showing off the art we have in the gallery.”
“Many of our artists undertake commissions, or are happy to provide their work in different formats e.g. on canvas or framed and in sizes to meet customer need.”
“For example, Tim Duke has recently produced for customers a large version of “The Wall” in an oak frame and an 850mm square “Warm Slumber”. It is very gratifying for the family when they can help their customers to enhance their homes and supply just the right thing.”
“Our artists use an amazing range of media. There is, for example, top quality photography, textiles, ceramics, mosaics, glass, paintings done in oils, acrylics, water colours, mixed media as well as stunning digital art.”
The artwork is supported by items, mainly from West Country suppliers, or fair trade, where possible, to provide the range that customers need to enable them to find a gift no matter what the occasion.
