Groups and individuals in the Burnham-On-Sea area are among several who will benefit from thousands of pounds of grant funding awarded by Sedgemoor District Council at its latest Grants Committee meeting.
£2,500 will go to Mark Moor Bowling Club for the extension of its facilities. It will lengthen the main hall for short mat bowling, improve its kitchen facilities, toilet access, enlarge the changing rooms and improve storage.
£225 will go to Jennifer Marshall who will be competing at Acrogymnastics for Highbridge’s Monarchs Gymnastics Club and has been selected to compete as part of the team representing the UK in Germany.
£500 will go to Olivia Cox, who is representing South West Girl guiding and Somerset at an international trip to Canada.
Others benefiting in the district – but who are outside the Burnham-On-Sea area – included Kings of Wessex Parent Teachers Association; Exmoor Search and Rescue; the Friends of Wembdon Road Cemetary, Middlezoy Parish Council, a footpath scheme in Durleigh and Eastover Park Bowls Club.
